This 14-week distributive-hybrid online course will explore principles related to critical care transport, safety, resuscitation (including airway), trauma and burns, medical emergencies (including pharmacology), and special populations. This course is in partnership with Lakes Region EMS. It is supported by current, evidence-based medical facts that allow for a multi-purpose application (i.e., certification in an advanced specialty), new and current knowledge acquisition, and clinical practice application. The course is delivered via the FlightBridgeED University Emerge LMS over 14 weeks. The course will be delivered weekly, with discussion posts, education modules, research paper evaluation, test-taking strategy, and periodic knowledge assessment sessions. Each week will be self-paced, with participation on weekly discussion boards mandatory and compulsory to pass the course.Â
This course fulfills all requirements for the state of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services and the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services Critical Care endorsement for initial and recertification.

Lab Dates:Â
The lab day is NOT mandatory for course completion. However, it is mandatory to use this course as a prerequisite to apply for a state critical care endorsement in Kentucky or Wisconsin.Â

Technical Requirements
Screen size
A minimum of 1024x600. That is the average size of a netbook. You probably won't want to view your course on a smaller screen than that - although it is possible. A strong WiFi connection is required. No video content can be downloaded.
