This 12-week distributive-hybrid online course will explore principles related to critical care transport, safety, resuscitation (including airway), trauma and burns, medical emergencies (including pharmacology), and special populations. This course is in partnership with Lakes Region EMS and Life Link III. It is supported by current, evidence-based medical facts that allow for a multi-purpose application (i.e., certification in an advanced specialty), new and current knowledge acquisition, and clinical practice application. The course is delivered via the FlightBridgeED University Emerge LMS over 12 weeks. The course will be delivered weekly, with discussion posts, education modules, research paper evaluation, test-taking strategy, and periodic knowledge assessment sessions. Each week will be self-paced, with required participation on weekly discussion boards mandatory and a compulsory requirement to pass the course.
This course fulfills all requirements for the state of Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services and the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services Critical care endorsement for initial and recertification.
